Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time CAD Designer to join our Engineering and Design team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience designing customized racking parts and systems, experience using AutoCAD, and a post-secondary diploma in Computer Aided Design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate drawings and layouts for clients and inspect custom designed racking systems onsite.
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering and Installation teams to identify and troubleshoot design issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Design and develop customized racking parts and systems to fit various racking systems.
  • Work with forklifts as they relate to the design of a wire guidance system and forklift interfaces for custom racking systems.
  • Inspect custom designed selective/push-back/drive-in racking systems, working under the guidance of a BC-registered Structural Engineer.
  • Apply knowledge of torque specifications, embedment, clearance issues as related to engineering requirements and the BCBC 2018 and BCBC 2024.
  • Use a micrometer to identify and record used racking systems.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary diploma in Civil Structural Architectural Drafting from an accredited educational institution.
  • 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD to design selective/push-back/drive-in racking systems.
  • 2+ years of experience designing customized racking parts to fit various racking systems.
  • 2+ years of experience working with forklifts as they relate to the design of a wire guidance system and forklift interfaces for custom racking systems.
  • 2+ years of experience inspecting custom designed selective/push-back/drive-in racking systems, working under the guidance of a BC-registered Structural Engineer.
  • 2+ years of experience with torque specifications, embedment, clearance issues as related to engineering requirements and the BCBC 2018 and BCBC 2024.
  • Previous experience using a micrometer to identify and record used racking systems.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license with a personal vehicle to travel throughout BC to perform inspection work.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong multi-tasking ability while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
