Indigenous Education Professor Position

The First Nations University of Canada invites applications for an Indigenous Education position at the Prince Albert Campus. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a culturally supportive environment and contribute to preserving, protecting, and interpreting the history, language, culture, and artistic heritage of First Nations people.
As a member of our faculty, you will teach in the areas of Indigenous pedagogy, culturally responsive pedagogy, and Indigenous language revitalization. You will have a PhD and be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, holding a Professional "A" teaching certificate. Experience in K-12 Indigenous settings is preferred, and knowledge of an Indigenous language is an asset.
This tenure-track position provides a competitive salary of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will begin their appointment on July 1, 2024, and will be expected to maintain academic excellence, engage in scholarly activities, and contribute to the university's mission and values.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Indigenous knowledge and cultures, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills. They will be able to inspire and motivate students, develop curriculum, and assess student learning outcomes. Additionally, they will demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and community partners to advance Indigenous education.
