About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at G Star Homes Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing
    • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and even finish.
    • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a high-quality finish.
    • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a durable finish.
  • Preparation and Setup
    • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe access to work areas.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
    • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to ensure a smooth finish.
    • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to ensure a strong bond.
  • Estimation and Planning
    • Estimate costs and materials required for projects to ensure accurate budgeting.
    • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced construction environment with tight deadlines and large workloads.
    • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and ensure a high-quality finish.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Physical Demands
    • Bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
    • Handling heavy loads and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Flexibility, reliability, and a strong team player attitude.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with a large workload and tight deadlines. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
