Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Technologist to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our Electric Operations group, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth function of business operations and compliance with the BCUC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate business requirements into technology to ensure seamless operations
  • Analyze, design, configure, implement, and maintain information systems, data centers, virtual infrastructures, networking components, and security
  • Hold functional expert responsibility and guide and train other team members
  • Provide advanced technical support, system administration, and system development
  • Coordinate, recommend, and implement major system upgrades, integrations, and segregations
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly variance reviews and reports
  • Establish and maintain liaisons with stakeholders, including discussing business practices, mutual needs, concerns, and activities
  • Develop and document end-to-end security standard guidelines, policies, and work procedures
  • Maintain an expert working knowledge and practice of the BCUC CIP Standards
Requirements
  • Completion of a two-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Eight (8) years' relevant technology experience
  • Have or able to obtain GCIP Certification within 3 years
  • Industry-relevant certifications are considered an asset
  • Immediate knowledge of Data Centre technologies, virtualization, storage, backup, networking, security, and all related supporting infrastructure
  • Working knowledge in programming/scripting and/or database query languages
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Competency in managing large to enterprise-sized projects
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail with focus on ensuring the delivery of high-quality accurate and reliable data in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task deadline-driven tasks
  • Superior ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Superior working knowledge of enterprise security concepts
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License
