Nurse Navigator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with abnormal breast changes, including breast cancer and suspected cancer.

• Provide integrated, quality, interdisciplinary patient-centered care to individuals with abnormal breast changes.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide access to healthcare services, education, and psychological support to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care.
• Teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
• Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
• 5 years' experience in a clinical nursing role, with a preference for 3 years of experience in a breast health clinic or oncology setting.
• Basic computer skills and good communication skills.
• Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

• Canadian Oncology Nursing Certification.

• Leadership and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities.
