Job Summary:

H. Hans Trucking LTD. is seeking a skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various routes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and Maintain Equipment: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Plan Routes: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and in good working condition, including checking tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure, including checking and maintaining air brakes, tires, and other critical systems.
  • Communicate with Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring timely communication and efficient operations.
  • Record and Track Information: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, providing accurate data for operational analysis.
Requirements:
  • Certifications and Licenses: Air Brakes Endorsement and a valid Class 1 or A Driver's License.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a Dump Truck Driver.
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a dusty environment, with regular exposure to mud, dust, and other weather conditions.
Workplace and Physical Requirements:
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing and walking.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) with regular exposure to heavy equipment and materials.
