Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated educator to join our team in Igloolik, Nunavut. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Inuit language and culture, as well as experience in teaching and assessing students in a northern environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students in a northern environment
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement inclusive education practices
  • Provide support to students, colleagues, and parents in the development of positive learning environments
  • Stay up-to-date with current assessment methods and technologies

Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Teaching certification from a Canadian jurisdiction
  • Experience teaching in a northern environment
  • Strong background in Inuit language and culture
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut (verbal and written)
