The Salvation Army is seeking a reliable and trustworthy individual to provide temporary relief for our driving duties. As a Relief Driver, you will be responsible for picking up and delivering donations, as well as assisting with warehouse processing and goods distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver donations, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Assist with warehouse processing, including unloading, sorting, packing, and storing donations.
  • Help select donations for store distribution, adhering to established standards of quality and company guidelines.
  • Meet daily targets by counting, weighing, and recording incoming and outgoing donations.
  • Communicate with colleagues and stakeholders to confirm deliveries and pickups.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as power jacks, as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.

Experience:

  • Up to 12 months of prior related experience, including experience with warehouse processing or goods distribution.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience in sorting food and goods.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing over 40 pounds.
  • Knowledge of warehouse equipment operation, such as power jacks.

Additional Requirements:

  • Background check consent.
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.
  • A clean drivers abstract.

Work Environment:

The Relief Driver will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, interacting with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective service. The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
