At Last Spike Construction Ltd., we're seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you'll be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of our projects. Your expertise in reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials will be crucial in bringing our designs to life. If you have a passion for working with wood and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you. Here's what you can expect from this role:

**Work Environment:**
Our projects often take place outdoors, so you'll need to be comfortable working in a noisy and dusty environment. You'll also be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
* Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
* Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
* Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
* Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
* Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers
* Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings

**Requirements:**

* Valid driver's license
* Ability to work on the road and in a variety of settings
* 40 hours per week
