Operating Room Team Lead Position in a Multidisciplinary Medical Centre

We are recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to work as a Team Lead in the Operating Room at Prairieview Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network.

Salary InformationThe estimated annual salary for this position is between $85,000 and $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include competitive wages, health and dental benefits, RRSP matching, and free parking.
Job Description- This role requires a strong leader who can manage resources effectively, prioritize tasks, and ensure quality patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing staffing budgets, coordinating special supplies, and assisting with medication stock management.
- The Team Lead will also be responsible for collaborating with all members of the healthcare team, attending various meetings, and working on OR efficiency and staff morale.
- This position involves undertaking quality assurance initiatives, navigating staff conflicts and issues, and being a primary communicator to and from the operating room.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional focus, precision, and professionalism in all aspects of their work within the operating room environment.
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with Canadian governing body
- Operating Room experience, perioperative nursing certification is essential
- Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all
- Ability in providing clinical leadership and developing, in their professional staff, a willingness to engage in continuous clinical skill improvement
- Effective communication with all team members
- Ability to take ownership and accountability
- Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment. Collaborating within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team
- The work environment can be very physically demanding and may require different levels of physical exertion, such as lifting and transferring patients.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull more than 25 pounds.
- At times, operating room nurses may work in challenging and stressful circumstances, such as in an emergency situation.
- During the course of their work operating room nurses may be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals, and other safety hazards.
