Job Summary

The Actuarial Analyst role within the Product Portfolio team at Royal Bank of Canada requires a strong technical actuarial background to provide key assistance in completing and ensuring the integrity of RBC's Canadian Life & Health actuarial reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop advanced analytical models to understand the costs, benefits, risks, and opportunities inherent in Life & Health insurance products.
  • Utilize data to identify trends and patterns, and provide insights to inform business decisions.
  • Assist in IFRS17 valuation process and actuarial financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain statistical models of valuation data.
  • Perform experience studies (Lapse, Mortality/Morbidity) and communicate results to management.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a degree in mathematics/statistics/actuarial science or a related field.
  • Successfully writing preliminary exams of the Society of Actuaries.
  • Basic programming skills for GGY/Axis, SAS, R.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) with all key relationships.
