Job Summary

The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Geneticist to join our team in the Provincial Medical Genetics Program. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert genetic services to patients and families, and contribute to the development and implementation of genetic medicine programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide genetic counseling and testing to patients and families, including prenatal genetic assessment and counseling, dysmorphology, pediatric genetic assessment, and adult clinical genetics.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of genetic medicine programs, including the design and delivery of educational programs for healthcare professionals and the public.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research studies and projects related to genetic medicine, including the analysis of genetic data and the development of new genetic testing technologies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients and families, including the development of individualized treatment plans and the coordination of care with other healthcare providers.
  • Participate in the education and training of healthcare professionals, including medical students, residents, and fellows, in the field of genetic medicine.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in medical genetics or a related field.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the province of British Columbia.
  • Specialist certification in medical genetics with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Eligibility for an appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or above at the University of British Columbia.
