Job Overview

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Technician to join our team in the maintenance and repair of various vehicles. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on different types of vehicles under close supervision.

Job Description

We are looking for an individual with strong mechanical skills and knowledge of automotive gas or diesel engines. The ideal candidate will have experience in routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and will be familiar with basic tools required for the job.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Two years or more of combination of 310T apprentice technician classroom training and work experience in required experience preferred
Benefits
  • Estimated salary: $25-$35 per hour depending on experience + $0.50 per hour premium for Sundays
  • Full-time permanent position with Sunday to Wednesday shifts from 6:30am to 5:00pm

Essential Functions
  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections and repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics
  • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
