About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join our team at Wawanesa. As a key member of our Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions in our BI Reporting environment (MicroStrategy and Power BI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and test reporting solutions in our BI Reporting environment, ensuring high-quality and efficient results.
  • Data Integration and Architecture: Back-end data integration and architecture, including BI data modeling, performance tuning, and data profiling.
  • Requirements Gathering: Prepare technical specifications through collaboration with business partners to elicit requirements and ensure accurate understanding of business needs.
  • Incident Resolution: Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents supporting our Business Intelligence environment.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Understand and profile data to extract patterns and trends, creating business insights with a focus on optimal user experience and data quality.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Translate complex data sets into clear and compelling visualizations, participating in code reviews and coordinating with analysts and operations teams.
  • Documentation and Process: Create and update relevant documentation, following established practices, processes, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma with 8+ years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence/reporting experience, including 5+ years in a Business Intelligence development and/or architectural role working with MicroStrategy and/or Power BI.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in complex SQL, creation of database objects, and data modeling, with knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and relational database concepts.
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and effective communication skills.
