About the Role

Midas Auto Service is seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the repair and maintenance of commercial transport trucks and automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, and adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, and test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Customer Service: Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements, and complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Teamwork and Training: Coach and instruct apprentices, and provide customer service.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification, Tire, wheel and rim mechanic, Automotive Service Technician (Fuel and Electrical Systems) Trade Certification, Automotive Service Technician (Transmission) Trade Certification, Motor Vehicle Repairer (Service Station Mechanic) Trade Certification, Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement, Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate, Driver's Licence (Class 2 or B or C), and Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate.
  • Area of Specialization: Engine repair, 4-wheel drive, Electrical and electronic system, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake system, Hydraulic system, Fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Automatic transmission, Standard transmission, Engine repair and overhaul, Drive train components, Auto body repair, Collision repair, Frame straightening, Plastics repair, Auto body painting, Welding, Machining, Truck-trailer repair, Imported vehicles, Front end components, and Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
  • Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, and Driving record check (abstract).
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle, Valid driver's licence, and Drive manual transmission vehicle.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity, and Standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Dependability, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Flexibility, Judgement, Reliability, and Team player.
