Job Summary:

The Child Care Worker Assistant will provide support to our early childhood educators in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged [insert age range]. The successful candidate will assist with daily routines, activities, and programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing child-care programs
  • Support daily routines, including bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Engage children in activities, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts
  • Assist with record-keeping and submitting written observations on children
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
  • Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a child care setting
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Flexibility and reliability
Work Environment:

The Child Care Worker Assistant will work in a child care centre in an urban area. The work environment is physically demanding, with repetitive tasks and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week.
