West Coast General Hospital is a 52-bed full-service hospital serving the Alberni Valley and its over 18,000 residents. Our hospital offers a wide range of medical services, including emergency care, surgical services, and diagnostic imaging.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and conducting vital sign checks
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence
Requirements
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals as a practicing RN registrant
  • Basic life support, Level C certification for general duty Staff Nurse positions
  • Specialty certification may be required for specialty areas such as Operating Room, Post Anesthetic Recovery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and specialty certification for Critical Care, Emergency, and Intensive Care
