Job Summary

The Global Remanufacturing Specialist will provide support on continuous improvement initiatives and projects to the Global Reman Continuous Improvement Manager, including the remanufacturing capability of Reman components. This position undertakes project planning, scheduling, data analysis, documentation management, project research, reporting, and implementation of continuous improvement activities in alignment with operational project plans and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate or support continuous improvement (Lean and 5S) initiatives and projects for Reman operations and product management.
  • Ensure that all aspects of a project are organized and in conformance with timeline and deliverables requirement, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and any other required documentation.
  • Provide regular data updates and administrative support to Global Remanufacturing Continuous Improvement Manager when necessary.
  • Manage Reman ACIGN tickets and relevant platforms (Smartsheet) used for operations, core tracking, and Customer/CC Portal.
  • Analyze the re-manufacturability of components, the compatibility to machine models, and the estimated costs of remanufacturing for potential Reman items.
  • Lead investigation of root-cause for repetitive damage and failure rates, and execution of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Responsible for end-to-end product quality and reliability with a focus on data collection and analysis.
  • Develop remanufacturing-related technical documentation, including engineering drawings, technical work instructions, BOM, wear limits, condemning criteria for reusable piece parts, criteria for interchangeable cores/components, quality documentation, etc. for Reman components, with support from Sourcing, Engineering, TIS, and OEM component suppliers.
  • Collaborate with PSD Engineering and Product Engineering teams on testing, approvals, and documentation for product improvements for Reman components.
  • Proactively research and analyze component repair feedback and other data to validate conformance with engineering design and to improve component performance and repairability.
  • Organize and maintain all forms of remanufacturing technical documentation in centralized platforms for all Reman centers to access.
  • Manage technical feedback and information requests from Reman Centers specific to repairable components and remanufacturing process.
  • Draft and distribute technical bulletins for all issues related to the repair and remanufacturing of components.
  • Approve and release global service definitions in M3.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering, business, or a related field of study.
  • Professional Engineering license in jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and component testing.
  • Knowledge of remanufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, project management systems, and similar applications).
  • Ability to prepare complex data and comprehensive reports.
  • Strategic thinker, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
