Furniture Specifier Job Description

Our client, a leading office furniture dealer, is seeking a skilled Furniture Specifier to join their team in the west end.

This key role involves supporting the outside sales teams in growing and maintaining their accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating comprehensive project budgets and schedules, working closely with junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project timelines and schedules using approved technology.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, including sub-consultants, contractors, and departmental teams.
  • Coordinate construction documents for permit, tender, and construction phases of projects.
  • Collaborate in concept design development, including planning, sketching, rendering, and sourcing specialty finishes.
  • Coordinate furniture selections with space plans and working drawings packages.
  • Prepare documents for move management and move supervision for furniture and workplace services projects.
  • Maintain project files and job folders according to corporate standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant North American interior design experience in commercial design.
  • Superb space planning and detailing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, CET Designer, and MS Office applications.
