About the Opportunity

Pomerleau, Inc. is currently looking to add a Construction Planning Specialist to join our Vancouver office. In this role, you will work closely with the Scheduling Director and Project Director to create project schedules based on project requirements. You will collaborate with internal departments, joint venture partners, and owners to ensure that project schedules meet their needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing project schedules, resource curves, phasing, and work sequences. You will also integrate contractual constraints and find the best options for carrying out projects. You will anticipate potential problems on the construction site and conduct qualitative analysis of projects under your responsibility. You will ensure alignment of the Project Breakdown Structure with cost estimates and participate in the development of expenditure or cash flow curves. You will develop Critical Path Method (CPM) on projects and analyze and justify deviations during the execution phase.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or construction engineering, or a diploma in civil engineering or construction engineering. A minimum of five years of planning/scheduling experience is required, as well as an excellent understanding of construction means and methods and associated timelines. Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, or any other planning software program is essential. Knowledge of Acumen Fuse, Schedule Reader, or any other schedule analysis software programs is also desirable. Strong command of Office 365, ability to read and interpret construction drawings, and ability to work under pressure are also required. Experience with resource and cost loading of a schedule, as well as strong organization, time management, and attention to detail skills, are necessary.
