Job Summary:

The Veterinary Care Specialist will assist veterinarians with medical procedures, administer medications and vaccines, and provide nursing care to animals. This is a full-time position that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including surgery and diagnostic tests
  • Administer medications and vaccines to animals, as directed by veterinarians
  • Provide nursing care to animals, including wound and bandage care
  • Counsel clients on animal health care and provide educational information
  • Work closely with other veterinary staff to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in veterinary technology or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting; veterinary assistant certification preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
