Job Title: Outdoor Skate Instructor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Outdoor Skate Instructor to join our team at the City of Brampton. As a key member of our Community Services department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality skate programs to participants of all ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and deliver safe and stimulating skating lessons for participants of all ages and skill levels.
  • Supervise participants and maintain complete vigilance to minimize risk and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring equipment is set up and stored appropriately.
  • Stay current with industry trends and new class formats to provide innovative and engaging programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program schedules and promotions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Skate Head Coach/Recreation Programmer/Recreation Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of age.
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR C from an accredited organization or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire.
  • Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification or ability to obtain within 2 months of date of hire.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience in Hockey, Figure Skating, and/or Power Skating or ability to skate at an advanced level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Permanent residency in Brampton.

Selection Criteria:

  • Applicants will be assessed based on their experience, skills, and qualifications.
  • Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be invited to participate in a video conference interview.
