About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Systems Lead to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a key member of our IMIT department, you will play a crucial role in developing systems that support clinical practice and participating in decision-making processes related to the identification, development, acquisition, use, and evaluation of healthcare technology.

In this position, you will provide leadership and guidance to other analysts on clinical practice issues in relation to the application of technology. You will also participate in clinical committees (internal and external) to develop and share knowledge that supports clinicians in the use of technology in all practice domains.

The successful candidate will have strong clinical expertise and experience in developing and implementing computerized patient care systems. They will be responsible for determining information needs and implementing system changes, as well as developing requests for modifications and/or enhancements for clinical applications.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with clinical professionals to assess and identify needs within clinical practice areas and advocate for appropriate solutions
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other analysts on clinical practice issues related to technology
  • Participate in decision-making and develop policy and standards concerning healthcare technology
  • Support the development of the electronic health record by identifying opportunities for electronic health information capture and distribution
  • Provide input to the Director, Managers, and Coordinators of the IMIT department for project and capital budgets
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of computerized patient care systems
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare informatics or a related field
  • Strong clinical expertise and experience in developing and implementing computerized patient care systems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
