Parks Maintenance Specialist

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Parks Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing the beauty and functionality of our parks through turf construction and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct turf construction and maintenance activities, including new landscaping, turf repair, minor irrigation repair, over-seeding, fertilizing, sweeping, and mowing.
  • Operate small motorized equipment, including a skid steer loader, and perform routine inspections and record keeping.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and be exposed to unpleasant waste materials and other biohazards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a field directly applicable to the work, with knowledge of turf construction and repair, general construction, carpentry repairs, and horticultural and arboricultural principles.
  • Equipment operating experience on a skid steer and previous supervisory experience.
  • Valid, full privilege Class 5 BC driver's license (or out of province equivalent) and ability to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offences related to the position.
