Estimator Role

MKA Canada, Inc. is seeking a skilled Estimator to support its Halifax office in the development of construction estimates and audits.

This position involves:

  • Measuring and quantifying construction projects from plans, including preparing detailed schedules of quantities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of construction estimates from information provided by field engineers, architects, and design consultants.
  • Pricing and analyzing various construction methods and types.
  • Conducting site inspections and assignments as necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong understanding of construction plans and specifications, with the ability to complete detailed quantity take-offs with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and prioritize tasks.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with the project team.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, with knowledge of estimating software systems an asset.
