Corporate Legal Advisor - Commercial Law

Position Overview:

  • Assist the Chief Legal Officer in addressing critical business matters pertaining to commercial law.
  • Contribute to the drafting, evaluation, and negotiation of various agreements with clients and suppliers.
  • Oversee the management of Canada Goose's trademark assets and enforce intellectual property rights.
  • Supervise international legal affairs as the company expands its global footprint.
  • Provide practical legal assistance across various operational sectors.
  • Lead multiple legal initiatives within the organization, engaging in negotiations with external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-departmental teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Administer contract management processes effectively.
  • Monitor legal expenditures in assigned areas.
  • Mentor, educate, and assist internal clients and team members.
  • Engage in diverse projects as necessary.

Candidate Profile:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited Canadian law institution.
  • Active member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial law within both law firm and corporate environments.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating contractual agreements.
  • Strong business insight with experience in international operations.
  • Ability to effectively balance legal and commercial considerations.
  • Excellent negotiation capabilities and aptitude for providing business-focused legal advice.
  • Creative, resourceful, and capable of making prompt decisions.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a talent for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
