Job Summary

The Production Specialist will set up and operate CNC Turning Centers, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production. The successful candidate will be able to work shift schedules as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate Multi-spindle, Multi-axis CNC Mill-turn lathe machines with minimal supervision.
  • Follow established setup procedures to mount fixtures and pick up work coordinates.
  • Good knowledge of cutting tools and speeds/feeds is essential.
  • Technical ability to read blueprints, sketches, interpret drawings, and understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
  • CMM (coordinate measuring machines) knowledge of operation.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills in geometry and trigonometry.
  • Fully competent in using metrology tools and gauges to inspect machined parts and features.

Requirements/Key Competencies

  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma - Grade 12.
  • Certification of Apprenticeship or Qualification in either Tool and Die Maker and/or General Machinist.
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years' experience working in a machine shop environment with CNC machines and operating to extremely close tolerances.
  • Effective interpersonal leadership and communications skills.
  • An adaptable, innovative, and natural problem solver.
  • Ability to identify, select, and prepare tooling for machines.
  • Analytical decision-making with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently set/up machines for complex parts.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction, or experience.
  • Possesses good organizational skills to ensure completion of paperwork and reports.
  • Ability to be organized, self-motivated, dependable, and work well with others in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow rules and regulations.

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $85,000 per year

This salary estimate is based on industry standards for a machining specialist with similar experience and qualifications in the Midland, Ontario area.
