Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Officer to join our team in Chilliwack, BC. As a key member of our Public Health department, you will play a critical role in promoting and maintaining a high standard of public health and environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate complaints related to public health and environmental control matters, and issue orders and recommendations as required.
  • Conduct inspections of various types of food processing and food handling establishments, business premises, and buildings to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Perform epidemiological investigations into foodborne illness outbreaks, communicable diseases, and other environmental health hazards.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, conduct research and public health studies, and make recommendations to improve standards and controls.
  • Provide consultation, education, and technical support to clients, including the general public, private industry, and government agencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Health degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) granted by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI).
  • Valid BC Class V Driver's License and possession of a personal vehicle.
