Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Precision Mould Engineer to join our team at Magna. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for building and modifying moulds according to blueprints, as well as interpreting designs into three-dimensional solid objects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mould design, function, and maintenance, with excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to determine root cause and recommend countermeasures. Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and cooling systems associated with moulds is also essential.

You will work closely with our team leaders and supervisors to ensure that all tasks are completed within given timeframes and to monitor progress towards customer satisfaction and production schedule commitments.

Responsibilities
  • Support shift operations by completing open action items and prioritizing outstanding work
  • Carry out daily pre-start Crane and Toolroom inspection sheets
  • Maintain a clean and organized Toolroom environment
  • Assist in the tooling process while meeting established customer requirements
  • Modify, repair, and troubleshoot moulds while working to very close tolerances from blueprints, sketches, and samples
  • Manage documentation and preventive maintenance requirements of moulds
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Certificate of qualification – Mould Maker
  • Good English (both written and verbal) communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software, such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, ESPRIT, Inventor
  • Familiarity with CNC equipment and programming
  • TIG welding experience
