Job Summary

As a Security Officer at Great Canadian Entertainment, you will play a vital role in protecting our assets and providing a welcoming experience for our guests. This position requires a unique blend of security expertise and customer service skills, making it an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
  • Enforce restricted access to unauthorized persons.
  • Observe transactions, slot drops, and chip fills, and transfer items to Lost & Found.
  • Perform identification checks on guests under 30.
  • Refer disputes to the Supervisor, Security.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property.
  • Escort guests and team members.
  • Perform crowd control as directed.
  • Attend to first aid incidents.
  • Assist the Supervisor, Security, with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion program.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an asset.
  • Two years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Previous experience or training in security an asset.
  • Occupational First Aid level 2 considered an asset.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Responsible liquor service (SIR) certification.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office.
  • Able to organize data with great accuracy.
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation an asset.
  • Self-motivator and ability to inspire other team members in enhancing the guest experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures at all times.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours.
