Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Risk Oversight Reporting, plays a crucial role in the Enterprise Risk Management team at Scotiabank. This position is responsible for ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

This includes assisting in the development, update, implementation, and communication of the Tangerine Enterprise Risk Appetite Framework (T-RAF), ensuring it is consistent with governing regulations, internal requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the refresh of Risk Appetite Thresholds
  • Annual update of the Tangerine Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework
  • Support on central activities such as annual planning, tracking, and following up on key deliverables
  • Coordinate various initiatives as needed in support of the Tangerine Enterprise Risk Management strategy and the broader organizational strategic priorities

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years experience in non-financial or enterprise risk management
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Proven track record in developing and executing risk management strategies in close collaboration with senior leadership
  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks, risk management, the Bank's operations, and financial sector risks
  • Superior communication skills with ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Strong judicious thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
