Job Summary:
Asphalt Equipment Operators play a crucial role in highway operations and paving projects. Their responsibilities include operating various equipment such as Rollers, pavers, brooms, skid steers, backhoes, plate tampers, etc., to apply asphalt to highway/construction projects efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate multiple pieces of equipment, including rollers, pavers, and brooms, to ensure smooth asphalt application.
- Perform manual labor tasks, requiring physical stamina and endurance.
- Maintain situational awareness at all times, prioritizing workplace safety.
- Keep the job site clean, organizing tools and equipment to minimize hazards.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety policies and procedures using proper tools and equipment.
- Foster a culture of employee safety, actively promoting responsible behavior among colleagues.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by supervisors or team leaders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating construction equipment in a similar environment (broomb, roller, paver, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, often requiring extended working hours.
- Capacity to operate equipment responsibly and safely, minimizing risks and ensuring efficient project completion.
- Effective communication skills, facilitating seamless interaction with coworkers and supervisors to achieve project objectives.
