About the Role

This Senior Estimator will play a key role in guiding the development and adherence to company standards for closure estimating. Working closely with the Director, Projects and Closure Estimating, you will define processes, procedures, and tools to streamline closure estimating functions across Newmont Global Projects.

  • Closure Estimating Leadership: Provide guidance, leadership, and expertise in the development and adherence to company standards for closure estimating.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and US regulatory requirements when applicable.
  • Closure Estimating Tools: Take ownership of the closure estimating tools within global projects, continuously improving them to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assurance Activities: Provide assurance activities for closure estimates, including preliminary and final estimate plan reviews, stage-gate reviews, and yearly closure estimate reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate closure estimates.

• Develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders related to Closure Estimating.

• Assist in preparing Authorization for Expenditure documentation.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10-15 years' experience in estimating on heavy industrial projects or an equivalent combination of training and experience necessary.
  • At least 2 years of field construction experience and at least 2 years in an EPC consulting/construction environment would be an advantage.

Skills and Abilities:

• Analytical/problem assessment capability.

• Advanced ability to define, review, and communicate appropriate best estimating practice.

• Computer literacy (MS Office), specifically expert level MS Excel.

• Presentation skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range: CAD $133,960 - $149,815 per annum, dependent on job-related education, training, and/or experience. Benefits include medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance; health care spending account; life, accidental death and dismemberment, and critical illness insurance; short-term and long-term disability; DC pension; employee assistance program (EAP); wellbeing reimbursement program; tuition reimbursement; and paid time off.
