About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Cook to join our team at Prem Sweets and Restaurant in Gillingham. As an Ethnic Food Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of ethnic dishes for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare menus for special events and daily operations, ensuring that dishes are made to the highest standards.
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of ethnic dishes, including South Indian, East Indian, West Indian, and Vegetarian options.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
  • Staff Training and Supervision: Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to prepare and cook high-quality dishes.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they meet health and safety standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that customers receive high-quality food and a positive dining experience.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with heavy loads, overtime required, and physically demanding tasks.
