Family Medicine Physician

This exciting new opportunity is part of a growing healthcare network in Dartmouth North, where a team of healthcare professionals will work together to provide comprehensive care to the community. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be part of a dynamic team that includes Primary Care providers, Nurse Practitioners, and Family Practice nurses.
The role offers a unique chance to collaborate with other healthcare services, including blood collection, Diabetes Centre, Community Health Teams, and more. You will have the opportunity to work with a shared Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and participate in Urgent Care Centre activities.
Responsibilities- Examine patients, take their histories, order diagnostic tests, and advise on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consult with and refer patients to other medical practitioners as needed.
- Act as a patient advocate and provide support throughout their care journey.
- Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations.
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health events as required by Nova Scotia Public Health.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives as a member of the team.
This is a full-time position with regular working hours.
QualificationsTo be eligible for this role, you must be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) and certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). You must also be a member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
