Job Summary

The Senior Healthcare Operations Manager will provide strategic leadership and direction to the Edmonton Zone Community Health Services (CHS) Primary Care and Chronic Disease Management (PCCDM) portfolio. This role reports directly to the Director, PCCDM, and is responsible for overseeing the integration of various resources to carry out activities in support of the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services (AHS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the PCCDM department, including the development and maintenance of strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with key partners, including Alberta Blue Cross, Alberta Aids to Daily Living, Continuing Care, and Primary Care Networks, to support quality processes and integration.
  • Implement the Chronic Care Model/Rehabilitation Model of Care, ensuring high-quality client care and safety.
  • Manage human, financial, and physical resources within an operating environment, fostering partnerships and achieving organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including primary care networks, public agencies, government, committees, and other partners.
Requirements
  • Progressive leadership experience in a health service environment, including 5 years of experience in a management role in healthcare operations.
  • Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services.
  • Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
  • Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage short- and long-term plans and projects, and deliver customer-focused results.
