About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Horizon School Inc. As an ECE Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess children's development and create personalized learning plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and safe environment, and assist with household duties as needed.
  • Provide exceptional care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Develop and implement engaging child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.
  • Ensure the maintenance of daycare equipment and supplies.
  • Engage children in storytelling, singing, and other activities that foster creativity and learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress.
  • Support early childhood educators and supervisors in record-keeping and administrative tasks.
  • Encourage children to express themselves through art, music, and physical activity.
  • Plan and prepare snacks, and arrange rooms or furniture for meals and rest periods.
  • Monitor children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues, and prepare reports for parents and supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and challenges.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or non-university certificate/diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with children in a childcare setting.
  • Basic security clearance, criminal record check, and Vulnerable Sector check.
  • Immunization records and Child Abuse Registry check.
