Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ASL Interpreter to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes) as a FLES (French as a Second Language) Interpreter. This is a continuing position starting September 2024.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and support teachers and other professionals in delivering regular or alternate programs of study.
  • Provide sign language interpretation services to students, teachers, and staff.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
  • Support students with diverse needs, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in sign language interpretation or a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an ASL Interpreter in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
