Job DescriptionGroup Accounting and Reporting (GA&R)
The GA&R team plays a critical role in the financial reporting processes of CPP Investments, responsible for the development and implementation of accounting policy guidelines and accounting policy support of investment initiatives and structures.
As a Senior Analyst, you will assist with the preparation of CPP Investments' financial statements, enhancing our current 'best in class' reporting to contribute to our reputation of integrity through transparent disclosure of financial information.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and coordinating the consolidated CPP Investments financial statements and note disclosures, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Working closely with various departments to review and analyze supporting schedules and seek ways to improve current reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinating with external auditors in the quarterly financial statement reviews and annual audit.
- Supporting process improvement initiatives to standardize and automate financial statements preparation and reporting processes.
- Performing tasks associated with the monthly general ledger close process.
- A professional accounting designation (e.g., CA/CPA), with a working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in the investment management, pension fund, or financial services industry.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster effective working relationships internally and externally.
