About the Role:

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Developer to join our Information & Instructional Technology Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex, database-driven applications that meet the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain large-scale applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Design and implement secure and scalable software solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our applications remain cutting-edge

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in software development, with a focus on complex systems and applications
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex software application issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and team members at all levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud native deployment with platforms AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale applications
  • Familiarity with web application security best practices and experience implementing security policies and procedures
