GIS Technician Role

The District of Central Saanich is seeking a skilled GIS Technician to provide technical support across various departments and police services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance with Geographic Information System (GIS) software, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Develop and maintain maps, spatial data, and related materials.
  • Collaborate with district departments and police services to ensure effective use of GIS technology.
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and security.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • Post-diploma education in Geographic Information Systems or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in GIS-related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Esri software and mapping principles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain police security clearance.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for district business.
