Process Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineering Manager to join our team at Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new plant start-up in Port Colborne, Ontario, and to contribute to the establishment of a world-class manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and implement manufacturing processes for the new plant, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Lead and manage a team of process engineers to drive process continuous improvements, collaborate with other managers, and guide/mentor the process engineering group.
- Develop and implement long-term strategic improvements plans for the facility, focusing on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and process efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including ESH, PEG, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Quality, to ensure effective planning and troubleshooting.
- Investigate manufacturing process problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop plans to correct and prevent future occurrences.
- Identify and track performance indicators, making changes for improvement and maintaining a positive work atmosphere.
- Participate in employee performance management, including goal setting, performance expectations, and standards, performance reviews, and on-going feedback.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred); Master's degree a plus.
- 7+ years of manufacturing/process engineering experience with demonstrated success in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Previous construction experience is required.
- Experience with plastic extrusion equipment, web handling equipment, and rotation equipment preferred.
- Experience in ISO 9000 or similar quality system is preferred.
- Strong emphasis on execution of multiple projects and people/team leadership.
- Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing/JIT, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, and Poke Yoke techniques required.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience working for a global organization with cross-cultural interaction is strongly preferred.
- Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work on a high-performing team, creating an environment where open and honest communication is the norm.
