Clinical Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Counsellor to join our Integrated Child and Youth team at School District #38 (Richmond). As a key member of our team, you will provide therapeutic counselling services and school liaison support to children, youth, and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary ICY team to provide wraparound mental health and substance use services and supports for children and youth (birth to 18) and their families.
- Provide therapeutic counselling services and school liaison support to children, youth, and families, with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
- Manage and oversee the Youth Peer Support Worker position, including recruitment, selection, and hiring, as well as performance management and employee conduct.
- Liaise between school staff and the ICY team to represent and advocate for the needs of all children and youth within the geographic area.
- Attend and actively participate in integrated child and youth team meetings, and provide oversight and supervision of the Youth Peer Support Worker.
- Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology, Educational Psychology, Psychology, or a related field.
- Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) or the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with families, children, and youth in a clinical counselling setting, with experience in clinical and/or educational interventions, crisis intervention, and leading and managing employees.
- Recent training and successful experience in mental health initiatives and suicide prevention, as well as demonstrated knowledge and experience liaising between community partners.
