We are seeking a skilled Pastry Artisan to join our team at beBee Professionals in Nanaimo. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a baker or in a similar culinary role, with a strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety regulations.

Job Overview:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts, while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Doughs and Batters from Scratch: Our pastry artisan will be responsible for creating doughs and batters for various baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts.
  • Decorate and Present Pastries and Cakes: The ideal candidate will have attention to detail and creativity in food presentation, ensuring that all pastries and cakes are visually appealing.
  • Maintain a Clean Kitchen Workspace: Our pastry artisan will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Monitor Inventory and Order Supplies: The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels and ordering baking supplies as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience: The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a baker or in a similar culinary role.
  • Baking Techniques and Food Safety: A strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety regulations is essential for this role.
  • Attention to Detail and Creativity: Our pastry artisan will need to have attention to detail and creativity in food presentation.
  • Flexibility: The successful candidate will need to be able to work early mornings or flexible hours as required.
