Business Systems Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Canada Cartage. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in analyzing and defining business processes, project management, and resolving application and software issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and define business processes and write process specifications.
  • Project Management – Set action plans, work collaboratively with teams, and drive results-oriented initiatives.
  • Field incoming problem tickets from end-users to resolve application and software issues within databases and other mission-critical systems.
  • Document end-user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and problem nature.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer enhancements and defect resolution.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including software installation and configuration.
  • Record, track, and document problem-solving processes, including successful and unsuccessful decisions.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to stakeholders, including management, development teams, and end-users.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems are adequately resolved.
  • Maintain and enhance software and application performance across the organization.
  • Identify and learn software applications used and supported by the organization.
  • Coordinate with department heads to assess training needs and objectives.
  • Participate in software applications training program design, development, and delivery.
  • Post software updates, knowledge bases, and FAQs on the company intranet.
  • Develop reports from various business systems as required by users and management.
Core Competencies and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in TruckMate or ERP Systems.
  • Database design/access: understanding of relational database design, data types, and superior skills in SQL.
  • Strong aptitude for financial data and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of GL entries and data balancing processes.
  • Experience with report development using Crystal Reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset.
  • Experience with a WMS is an asset.
  • Well-organized, manages multiple activities with conflicting deadlines, and has solid priority and time management skills.
  • Works interdependently, consulting and collaborating with various internal stakeholders.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check.
