Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Educator - Nursing Practice to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the clinical component of undergraduate nursing courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach nursing competencies in the clinical practice skills labs, ensuring students develop the skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Supervise students in a hospital or community health setting, assigning them to provide direct care to patients and monitoring their skill performance to ensure accepted practice standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with course leaders to develop and deliver the theoretical component of clinical coursework, including grading papers and delivering lectures.
  • Participate in team activities related to planning, implementing, and evaluating the clinical component of the undergraduate program.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Nursing and Registered Nurse with BCCNM.
  • Nursing Licensure in British Columbia.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a clinical position.
  • Strong clinical background in Adult Acute/Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Gerontology, or Community/Population Health.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Teaching experience and/or a keen interest in teaching.
Working Conditions

This position is located within a health-care facility, and the successful candidate will be required to provide verification of full vaccination against Covid-19 prior to the start date, as required by a provincial health mandate.

Part-time FTE ranges from 0.30 to 0.80.
