About the Role:
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Logistics Attendant to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West Team.
The Supply Chain Operations West team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing technical assistance and maintaining the laboratory, all laboratory equipment and test instruments.
In this role, you will be working on the frontlines, assisting in the delivery of products, processes and services that provide life-saving treatments for Canadians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify shipping and receiving of products, resolving discrepancies with buyers efficiently.
- Responsible for the daily documentation for resupply of fridges/freezers and monthly cleaning, and performing physical inventory counts/stock rotation as per expiry dates/product recall.
- Organize and maintain warehouse and dock area for efficiency/cleanliness, as well as maintain documentation of critical supplies batch numbers/quantities received.
- Ensure Preventative Maintenance/replacement (of faulty) Equipment/calibration (as required), as well as ensure the proper handling/accurate accounting of biohazard containers for off-site removal and destruction.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment, such as forklift.
- Ability to keyboard 35 w.p.m.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Lifting supplies and equipment that may exceed 10 kilograms, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
