**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Support Assistant to join our team at School District #60 (Peace River North). As an Educational Support Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and district personnel to provide support to students with diverse educational and emotional needs.

  • Work under the direction of the classroom teacher and district personnel to provide care for students with varying educational and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to provide assistance in the delivery and implementation of educational programs and services.
  • Support students with special needs, learning disabilities, and those on modified and alternate programs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

Classroom Support:

  • Constructs/locates instructional materials, games, displays, and learning centres.
  • Operates computers, audiovisual equipment, and adaptive technology.
  • Supervises students during education activities and observes academic and behavioral assessment data.

Program Implementation:

  • Assist in implementing programs requiring intensive behavior interventions.
  • Supervise students as required in the classroom, gym, school, playground, bus loading/unloading, and community field trips.

Professional Development:

  • Attend workshops as directed by the Administrative Officer(s).
  • Complete Level 1 First Aid Certificate and WHMIS Certificate within the probationary period.

**Requirements:**

Education and Training:

  • Education Assistant Certificate with documented training in augmentative communication devices, Boardmaker, Apps, and other software.
  • Formal POPARD training or experience.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in new or challenging situations.
  • Physical ability to keep up with an active child.
