We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Medicine department at Providence Health Care. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
About the Role:This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate LPN to work in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for providing safe and respectful nursing care to patients, conducting assessments, monitoring and recognizing abnormal signs or symptoms, and communicating with the RN/RPN and other members of the interdisciplinary care team as required.
Responsibilities:- Provides safe and respectful nursing care to patients, according to established policies and procedures.
- Conducts head-to-toe assessments, monitors and recognizes abnormal signs or symptoms, and communicates with the RN/RPN and other members of the interdisciplinary care team as required.
- Communicates with physician regarding assigned patient and carries out verbal and/or written orders as required.
- Documents care provided, such as assessments, status, progress, treatments, changes in condition, medications administered and discharge planning, in manual and/or computerized environment.
- Prepares patient for, and/or receives patient from surgical and/or diagnostic procedures, transfers and admissions.
- Administers medications, including narcotics and excluding intravenous route, according to established procedures.
- Responds to a variety of incidents such as Codes, injuries or falls, hazardous spills, aggressive behavior and fire alarms.
- Assists with the orientation of new staff and student preceptors by performing duties such as demonstrating work procedures, proper use/location of equipment, sharing clinical knowledge, using effective communication and acting as a positive role model.
- Graduated from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
- Registered and in good standing with BCCNM.
- Current CPR.
