Job Title: Group Home Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Home Worker to join our team at the Developmental Disabilities Association. As a Group Home Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare reports and case histories to document client progress and needs.
  • Assess clients' needs and eligibility for specific services, and develop personalized support plans.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry and record-keeping.
  • Implement life skills workshops and programs to promote client independence and well-being.
  • Liaise with clients' families, community contacts, and other social services agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Supervise activities and provide guidance to clients living in group homes and half-way houses.
  • Implement behavior management programs and crisis intervention strategies to promote a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other professionals to evaluate treatment programs and ensure best practices.
  • Assist clients with special needs and provide support with daily living activities.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings to promote socialization and community integration.
Requirements:
  • Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Training.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and a client-focused approach.
